I worked as a Software Development Engineer at Intuitive Surgical in the Test Equipment and Automation division over the summer of 2024, in Sunnyvale California.

One of my primary responsibilities was to design, validate, and deploy manufacturing automation software. Using C# and WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), I developed applications that optimized the workflow in the manufacturing process, automating key tasks that were previously performed manually. This software not only increased efficiency but also reduced the margin for error, ensuring higher reliability in the manufacturing of complex surgical instruments.

In addition to software automation, I played a key role in the design and development of a calibration test fixture for manufacturing equipment. This fixture was essential for ensuring that equipment used in production was properly calibrated, which is critical for maintaining the accuracy and performance of medical devices. By creating this fixture, I contributed to the overall quality assurance of the manufacturing process.

Another significant project I worked on involved developing and deploying tools for Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) report generation. These reports are crucial in evaluating the precision and consistency of measurement systems used in manufacturing. By automating the report generation process, I helped streamline data analysis, allowing engineers to quickly assess the reliability of their measurements and make informed decisions about process improvements.

Overall, my experience at Intuitive Surgical was both challenging and rewarding. I gained hands-on experience in designing and deploying software solutions that directly impacted the efficiency and quality of manufacturing processes, contributing to the production of life-saving medical technologies.
